Real-Time Cape Cod Fishing Updates & Charter Experiences

Trophy Fish Caught

As we move into early June, real-time conditions on the water are heating up, bringing an incredible run of trophy fish to our local grounds. Captain Aris Ochoco and the Ohana Sportfishing crew have been busy putting guests on massive seasonal Striped Bass, with some recent catches pushing personal bests for our anglers. As the warm Gulf Stream currents push closer to the New England coast during the peak summer months, we even occasionally see warm-water and tropical fish species mixing with our local pelagics like Bluefin Tuna, False Albacore, and Thresher Sharks. If you are looking to land a notable, heavy-tackle monster, the waters are highly active right now.

Family-Friendly Fishing Adventures

Not every trip requires heavy tackle and deep-sea stamina; we also specialize in engaging, family-friendly fishing experiences. Our nearshore and inshore charters are perfectly tailored for families looking to introduce kids to the sport in a safe, comfortable, and easy-going environment. Aboard our fully equipped 23-foot center console, we provide child-sized life vests upon request and utilize straightforward bottom fishing techniques that result in a highly productive day. These kid-friendly trips keep you in protected, calmer waters while still targeting abundant, reliable species like Scup and Tautog, ensuring that anglers of all ages enjoy a successful outing.

Fishing Year-Round in Cape Cod

One of the greatest advantages of our local marine ecosystem is the ability to enjoy fishing year-round in Cape Cod. Our fishery is defined by strong seasonal migrations, meaning there is always a highly active target species ready to bite. Spring and early summer offer fantastic inshore action for Striped Bass and Bluefish, while late summer and fall shift the focus to offshore giants like Bluefin Tuna. Even as temperatures drop in late fall, our services remain highly reliable as we pivot to target structure-dwelling Tautog and Cod. No matter the season, Captain Aris has the expertise to adapt to shifting water temperatures and weather patterns. Review our current availability and book your fishing trip today to secure your preferred date on the water.

Striped Bass Are Running Strong As We Gear Up For Summer fishing report coverpicture

June 6, 2026

Cape Cod Bay - Barnstable, MA Inshore Report on 6th Jun, 2026

June is officially here, and the waters around New England are producing fantastic days on the water. Captain Aris Ochoco and the crew at Ohana Sportfishing Charters have been running consistent trips, and the transition into our prime summer fishery is looking excellent. The water temperatures are right where we want them, bringing in abundant baitfish and keeping our target species highly active. Inshore Striped Bass Action The striped bass fishing Cape Cod has to offer right now is phenomenal. We are finding large schools holding inshore and along the flats. Casting light tackle and popping along the surface has yielded great results early in the morning, while drifting live bait has been highly effective as the sun gets higher. Whether you are on a beginner friendly trip or a pro angler charter, the stripers are hitting hard and putting up a great fight. We are also seeing decent numbers of Bluefish mixing in, keeping everyone on their toes. Nearshore Bottom Fishing Success Our nearshore bottom fishing is keeping the rods bent and the coolers full. Tautog and Scup (Porgy) are providing steady, reliable bites for our family-focused and half-day charters. Dropping jigs and bottom rigs over local structure has been a surefire way to secure a great catch. It is a highly productive option for anyone looking for consistent bites and an easy-going morning. Offshore Tuna Outlook Looking ahead, our offshore fishing Cape Cod charter trips are prepping for the arrival of giant bluefin tuna. We are starting to see the signs of their migration moving into our offshore grounds. By July, our heavy tackle and kite fishing setups will be in full rotation. Thresher sharks are also beginning to make their presence known in the deeper waters. If you are aiming to battle heavy pelagic species this season, we highly recommend reserving your dates before the calendar fills. Plan Your Visit Summer availability is moving quickly. Whether you want a quick inshore half-day trip or a deep sea run, book fishing charter Cape Cod with Ohana Sportfishing Charters today to secure your time on the water.
